“Shalaka suffers from psychological ailment and thinks that she is responsible for plane crash that killed her parents when she was 4. She lacks confidence and can’t talk to anyone. As she turns 24, her grandfather Jawahar, with the help of his friend Bakul, starts looking for suitable groom for her. All their efforts fail miserably. When they are about to give up, confident and charming lad Ram joins Shalaka’s office. They request him to befriend Shalaka and infuse much-needed confidence in her. Though reluctantly, Ram promises to try. But little does he know that life has bigger surprises in store for Shalaka and him.

શલાકા માનસિક રોગથી પીડિત છે. ૪ વર્ષની કુમળી વયે તેણે એક વિમાન-દુર્ઘટનામાં પોતાના માતા-પિતાને ગુમાવ્યા હતા અને તે પોતાની જાતને આ અકસ્માત માટે જવાબદાર માને છે. તે ૨૪ વર્ષની થતા, તેના દાદા જવાહર, તેમના મિત્ર બકુલની મદદથી, તેના માટે યોગ્ય વર શોધવાની શરૂઆત કરે છે. પરંતુ તેમના તમામ પ્રયાસો નિષ્ફળ જાય છે. જ્યારે તેઓ બધી આશા છોડી દે છે, ત્યારે આત્મ-વિશ્વાસથી ભરપૂર રામ સાથે તેમની મુલાકાત થાય છે. તેઓ રામને શલાકાના મિત્ર બનવા અને તેનામાં આત્મ-વિશ્વાસનો સંચાર કરવા વિનંતી કરે છે. કમને રામ પ્રયાસ કરવાનું વચન આપે છે. પણ રામને શું ખબર હતી કે વિધાતાએ તેના માટે કઈંક અણધાર્યા જ લેખ લખ્યા છે.
